Taproom No. 307
Last week, I met up with a friend for drinks. We’ve done the whole mixology cocktail bar scene before (Lantern’s Keep and Joseph Leonard), so we decided to check out a beer spot. I found a great article on beer bars in New York on Time Out New York and we decided on Taproom No. 307. Taproom is in Murray Hill, so at first I was a little hesitant. Murray Hill seems like the go-to area in Manhattan to live right out of college…and to try to hang onto your frat days. It’s a very fratastic area.
Anyway, I was a little surprised how busy Taproom was on a Wednesday at 6:30, but we were lucky to get a table. My friend and I both ordered beer flights. It was almost as fun picking out which beers to try as it was to actually drink them. Taproom has a HUGE selection of beer. And it’s good beer too. We also split the tater tots which were really tasty. There’s nothing better than comfort food like tater tots and smooth beer to make you
feel good. We also made the tail end of happy hour, so we got a good deal on the flights. We were there for about two hours and we each paid only $20 each.
Taproom was pretty loud, but it was fine for the kind of mood we were in. I definitely want to go back again, but I’ll stick to after work drinks because I think it might be too crowded otherwise.
If you’re walking around Murray Hill and want a good beer, I recommend stopping in Taproom No. 307.
